The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Kaltungo plotted against Gombe and Nigeria. The SNDi of new construction in Kaltungo followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Gombe which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Nigeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Kaltungo's incremental SNDi fell from 7.19 to 6.32 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Kaltungo ranked 3rd out of 8 cities in Gombe and 52nd out of 422 in Nigeria as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
While Arambagh and Channapattana both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Kaltungo fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Arambagh and Channapattana both became progressively more disconnected, while Kaltungo became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Kaltungo and Arambagh have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
