The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Auchi plotted against Edo and Nigeria. The SNDi of new construction in Auchi rose steadily, compared to Edo which rose steadily and Nigeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Auchi's incremental SNDi rose from 3.4 to 4.23 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Auchi ranked 10th out of 12 cities in Edo and 231st out of 422 in Nigeria as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Auchi and Amol both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Nandail built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Auchi and Amol both became progressively more disconnected, while Nandail grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Auchi and Nandail have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
