The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Ishiagu plotted against Ebonyi and Nigeria. While Ebonyi and Nigeria both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Ishiagu's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Ishiagu's incremental SNDi rose from 2.51 to 3.46 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. What about similarly populated cities?
While Xichong and Maldonado both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Ishiagu fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Xichong and Maldonado both became progressively more disconnected, while Ishiagu fluctuated in connectivity.
