The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Benisheikh plotted against Borno and Nigeria. The SNDi of new construction in Benisheikh rose steadily, compared to Borno which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Nigeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Benisheikh's incremental SNDi rose from 1.54 to 3.35 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Benisheikh ranked 5th out of 16 cities in Borno and 23rd out of 422 in Nigeria as of 2020.

In new street additions, Benisheikh and Kalaiya both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Rameswaram built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Benisheikh and Kalaiya both became progressively more disconnected, while Rameswaram grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
