The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Abat plotted against Akwa Ibom and Nigeria. The SNDi of new construction in Abat rose steadily, compared to Akwa Ibom which rose steadily and Nigeria which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Abat's incremental SNDi rose from 3.75 to 4.97 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Abat ranked 6th out of 16 cities in Akwa Ibom and 253rd out of 422 in Nigeria as of 2020.

In new street additions, Abat and ميت الوسطى both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Huaxian built increasingly connected streets over time. For the full network, Abat and ميت الوسطى both became progressively more disconnected, while Huaxian became progressively more connected. Notably, Abat had a more connected network than ميت الوسطى in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
