All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Tanout's incremental SNDi rose from 2.62 to 3.04 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Tanout ranked 5th out of 5 cities in Zinder and 26th out of 33 in Niger as of 2020.

In new street additions, Tanout and Anfu County both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Shrnak built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Tanout and Anfu County both became progressively more disconnected, while Shrnak grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
