The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Magaria plotted against Zinder and Niger. The SNDi of new construction in Magaria followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Zinder which rose steadily and Niger which rose steadily. Most recently, Magaria's incremental SNDi rose from 1.35 to 3.09 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Magaria ranked 4th out of 5 cities in Zinder and 21st out of 33 in Niger as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Magaria and Jinshang both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Huangqiao built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Magaria fluctuated in connectivity, while Jinshang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Huangqiao grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Magaria and Jinshang have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
