Both Matagalpa and Nicaragua follow the same trend. Most recently, Matagalpa's incremental SNDi rose from 3.92 to 4.48 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Matagalpa ranked 8th out of 10 in Nicaragua as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Matagalpa and Kati both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Sa`dah fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Matagalpa and Kati both became progressively more disconnected, while Sa`dah fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Matagalpa had a more sprawly network than Kati in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
