The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Purmerend plotted against Noord-Holland and Netherlands. The SNDi of new construction in Purmerend followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Noord-Holland which rose steadily and Netherlands which peaked in 1991-2005. Most recently, Purmerend's incremental SNDi rose from 1.98 to 3.15 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Purmerend ranked 7th out of 9 cities in Noord-Holland and 36th out of 43 in Netherlands as of 2020.

In new street additions, Purmerend and Shicheng both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Mohnyin built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Purmerend and Shicheng both fluctuated in connectivity, while Mohnyin became progressively more disconnected. Notably, Purmerend had a more sprawly network than Mohnyin in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
