The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Thongwa plotted against Yangon and Myanmar. The SNDi of new construction in Thongwa rose steadily, compared to Yangon which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Myanmar which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Thongwa's incremental SNDi rose from 5.09 to 8.22 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Thongwa ranked 12th out of 13 cities in Yangon and 95th out of 113 in Myanmar as of 2020.

In new street additions, Thongwa and Sefrou both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Yangshan built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Thongwa and Sefrou both became progressively more disconnected, while Yangshan grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Thongwa and Sefrou have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
