The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Kungyangon plotted against Yangon and Myanmar. The SNDi of new construction in Kungyangon rose steadily, compared to Yangon which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Myanmar which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Kungyangon's incremental SNDi rose from 4.73 to 5.1 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Kungyangon ranked 11th out of 13 cities in Yangon and 92nd out of 113 in Myanmar as of 2020.

In new street additions, Kungyangon built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Nirsa fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Pauakhali built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Kungyangon and Nirsa both became progressively more disconnected, while Pauakhali became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards. Kungyangon and Nirsa have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
