All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Taunggyi's incremental SNDi rose from 3.99 to 5.74 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Taunggyi ranked 18th out of 19 cities in Shan and 86th out of 113 in Myanmar as of 2020.

In new street additions, Taunggyi and Kurukshetra both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Polokwane built increasingly disconnected streets over time. Looking at the full network, Kurukshetra and Polokwane both became progressively more disconnected, while Taunggyi fluctuated in connectivity. Taunggyi and Kurukshetra have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
