The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nyaung Shwe plotted against Shan and Myanmar. The SNDi of new construction in Nyaung Shwe peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Shan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Myanmar which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Nyaung Shwe's incremental SNDi fell from 4.94 to 4.27 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nyaung Shwe ranked 11th out of 19 cities in Shan and 43rd out of 113 in Myanmar as of 2020.

In new street additions, Nyaung Shwe and Chortoq both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Zhuangzhai fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Nyaung Shwe became progressively more disconnected, while Chortoq grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Zhuangzhai fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Nyaung Shwe had a more connected network than Zhuangzhai in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
