The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Waimaw plotted against Kachin and Myanmar. The SNDi of new construction in Waimaw peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Kachin which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Myanmar which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Waimaw's incremental SNDi fell from 4.92 to 4.34 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Waimaw ranked 3rd out of 7 cities in Kachin and 87th out of 113 in Myanmar as of 2020.

In new street additions, Waimaw and Lawrence both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Nicoadala built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Waimaw and Lawrence both became progressively more disconnected, while Nicoadala became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Notably, Waimaw had a more connected network than Nicoadala in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
