The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Wakema plotted against Ayeyarwady and Myanmar. The SNDi of new construction in Wakema peaked in 1976-1990, compared to Ayeyarwady which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Myanmar which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Wakema's incremental SNDi fell from 9.8 to 8.62 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Wakema ranked 17th out of 18 cities in Ayeyarwady and 112th out of 113 in Myanmar as of 2020.

In new street additions, Wakema and Linghai both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Xiangdong fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Wakema grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved, while Xiangdong fluctuated in connectivity and Linghai grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
