The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nyaungdon plotted against Ayeyarwady and Myanmar. The SNDi of new construction in Nyaungdon fell steadily, compared to Ayeyarwady which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Myanmar which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Nyaungdon's incremental SNDi fell from 3.61 to 3.43 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nyaungdon ranked 8th out of 18 cities in Ayeyarwady and 75th out of 113 in Myanmar as of 2020.

In new street additions, Nyaungdon built increasingly connected streets over time, while Thul built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Jinfeng built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Nyaungdon became progressively more connected, while Thul grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Jinfeng fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Nyaungdon had a more sprawly network than Jinfeng in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
