The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Gurue plotted against Zambezia and Mozambique. The SNDi of new construction in Gurue followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Zambezia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Mozambique which rose steadily. Most recently, Gurue's incremental SNDi fell from 6.63 to 6.1 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Gurue ranked 9th out of 9 cities in Zambezia and 42nd out of 44 in Mozambique as of 2020.

In new street additions, Gurue fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Bei'an built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Suifenhe fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. Looking at the full network, Bei'an and Suifenhe both became progressively more disconnected, while Gurue became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Gurue and Bei'an have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
