The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Maputo plotted against Maputo City and Mozambique. The SNDi of new construction in Maputo followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Maputo City which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Mozambique which rose steadily. Most recently, Maputo's incremental SNDi rose from 2.05 to 2.42 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Maputo ranked 1st out of 1 cities in Maputo City and 12th out of 44 in Mozambique as of 2020.

In new street additions, Maputo fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Gujranwala built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Multan built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Looking at the full network, Gujranwala and Multan both became progressively more disconnected, while Maputo fluctuated in connectivity. Maputo and Gujranwala have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
