The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Zagora plotted against Souss - Massa - Draâ and Morocco. The SNDi of new construction in Zagora fell steadily, compared to Souss - Massa - Draâ which peaked in 1976-1990 and Morocco which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Zagora's incremental SNDi fell from 1.26 to 1.14 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Zagora ranked 1st out of 9 cities in Souss - Massa - Draâ and 4th out of 72 in Morocco as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Zagora built increasingly connected streets over time, while Yatta built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Nagqu built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Zagora became progressively more connected, while Yatta became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards and Nagqu became progressively more disconnected. Notably, Zagora had a more sprawly network than Nagqu in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
