The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Ouarzazate plotted against Souss - Massa - Draâ and Morocco. The SNDi of new construction in Ouarzazate fell steadily, compared to Souss - Massa - Draâ which peaked in 1976-1990 and Morocco which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Ouarzazate's incremental SNDi fell from 2.13 to 2.05 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Ouarzazate ranked 6th out of 9 cities in Souss - Massa - Draâ and 54th out of 72 in Morocco as of 2020.

While Ödemiş and ዳባት both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Ouarzazate built increasingly connected streets over time in new street additions. Looking at the full network, Ödemiş and ዳባት both became progressively more disconnected, while Ouarzazate became progressively more connected. Notably, Ouarzazate had a more sprawly network than ዳባት in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
