The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Minatitlán plotted against Veracruz and México. While Veracruz and México both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Minatitlán's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Minatitlán's incremental SNDi rose from 3.88 to 4.56 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Minatitlán ranked 9th out of 14 cities in Veracruz and 129th out of 182 in México as of 2020.

In new street additions, Minatitlán and Petropavl both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Puranpur built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Minatitlán and Petropavl both became progressively more disconnected, while Puranpur grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Notably, Minatitlán had a more connected network than Puranpur in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
