The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Coatzacoalcos plotted against Veracruz and México. While Veracruz and México both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Coatzacoalcos's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Coatzacoalcos's incremental SNDi rose from 3.01 to 3.67 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Coatzacoalcos ranked 4th out of 14 cities in Veracruz and 81st out of 182 in México as of 2020.

In new street additions, Coatzacoalcos and Al-Qadarif both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Tacna built increasingly connected streets over time. For the full network, Coatzacoalcos became progressively more disconnected, while Tacna became progressively more connected and Al-Qadarif grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Notably, Coatzacoalcos had a more connected network than Tacna in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
