The SNDi of new construction in Mixquiahuala peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Hidalgo which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and México which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Mixquiahuala's incremental SNDi fell from 5.17 to 5.13 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Mixquiahuala ranked 8th out of 9 cities in Hidalgo and 153rd out of 182 in México as of 2020.

In new street additions, Mixquiahuala built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Ponte dos Carvalhos fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Tolanaro built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Mixquiahuala and Ponte dos Carvalhos both became progressively more disconnected, while Tolanaro became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards.
