The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Celaya plotted against Guanajuato and México. The SNDi of new construction in Celaya rose steadily, compared to Guanajuato which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and México which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Celaya's incremental SNDi rose from 3.02 to 3.91 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Celaya ranked 8th out of 15 cities in Guanajuato and 92nd out of 182 in México as of 2020.

In new street additions, Celaya built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Sonipat fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Huiminxiang built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. For the full network, Celaya and Sonipat both became progressively more disconnected, while Huiminxiang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Celaya and Sonipat have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
