The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Kiffa plotted against Assaba and Mauritania. The SNDi of new construction in Kiffa was at its lowest in 1976-1990, compared to Assaba which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Mauritania which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Kiffa's incremental SNDi rose from 1.7 to 2.12 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Kiffa ranked 1st out of 1 cities in Assaba and 4th out of 6 in Mauritania as of 2020.

In new street additions, Kiffa built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns, while Aketi fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Tekkali built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Kiffa became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards, while Aketi fluctuated in connectivity and Tekkali became progressively more disconnected. Kiffa and Tekkali have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
