The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Miri plotted against Sarawak and Malaysia. The SNDi of new construction in Miri peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Sarawak which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Malaysia which rose steadily. Most recently, Miri's incremental SNDi fell from 7.75 to 7.26 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Miri ranked 5th out of 6 cities in Sarawak and 39th out of 43 in Malaysia as of 2020.

In new street additions, Miri and Dongguang both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Slatina built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Miri and Slatina both became progressively more disconnected, while Dongguang grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
