The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Petropavl plotted against North Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan. The SNDi of new construction in Petropavl followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to North Kazakhstan which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Kazakhstan which rose steadily. Most recently, Petropavl's incremental SNDi rose from 2.53 to 3.75 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Petropavl ranked 1st out of 1 cities in North Kazakhstan and 13th out of 32 in Kazakhstan as of 2020.

In new street additions, Petropavl and Minatitlán both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while León built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Notably, Petropavl had a more sprawly network than León in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
