What about similarly populated cities?
- Rosario, Argentina
- Santos, Brazil
- Yueqing, China
- Solapur, India
- Tuen Mun, Hong Kong
- Rostov-on-Don, Russia
While Rosario and Solapur both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Nara fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Notably, Nara had a more sprawly network than Solapur in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
