The SNDi of new construction in Bari followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Apulia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Italy which peaked in 1991-2005. Most recently, Bari's incremental SNDi rose from 3.45 to 4.36 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Bari ranked 11th out of 11 cities in Apulia and 50th out of 88 in Italy as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
While Orizaba and As Samawah both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Bari fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Notably, Bari had a more sprawly network than Orizaba in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
