The SNDi of new construction in As Suwayrah followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Wasit which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease and Iraq which peaked in 1976-1990. Most recently, As Suwayrah's incremental SNDi rose from 2.11 to 2.41 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, As Suwayrah ranked 3rd out of 5 cities in Wasit and 21st out of 86 in Iraq as of 2020.

While Quíbor and Gölbaşı both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, As Suwayrah fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. For the full network, As Suwayrah and Quíbor both became progressively more disconnected, while Gölbaşı grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Notably, As Suwayrah had a more sprawly network than Quíbor in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
