The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Batam City plotted against Kepulauan Riau and Indonesia. The SNDi of new construction in Batam City followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Kepulauan Riau which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Indonesia which rose steadily. In new street additions, Batam City and Fushan both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Đà Nẵng built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Batam City fluctuated in connectivity, while Đà Nẵng grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Fushan became progressively more disconnected. Batam City and Fushan have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
