The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Pontianak plotted against Kalimantan Barat and Indonesia. The SNDi of new construction in Pontianak followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Kalimantan Barat which rose steadily and Indonesia which rose steadily. Most recently, Pontianak's incremental SNDi rose from 5.06 to 6.33 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Pontianak ranked 8th out of 9 cities in Kalimantan Barat and 318th out of 366 in Indonesia as of 2020.

In new street additions, Pontianak and Tshikapa both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Tai'an built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Pontianak fluctuated in connectivity, while Tshikapa became progressively more disconnected and Tai'an became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards.
