The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Sukoharjo plotted against Jawa Tengah and Indonesia. The SNDi of new construction in Sukoharjo followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, compared to Jawa Tengah which rose steadily and Indonesia which rose steadily. Most recently, Sukoharjo's incremental SNDi rose from 2.8 to 3.36 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Sukoharjo fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Pulka built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Julābditola built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Sukoharjo and Julābditola both became progressively more disconnected, while Pulka became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Sukoharjo and Pulka have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
