The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Gazole plotted against West Bengal and India. The SNDi of new construction in Gazole rose steadily, compared to West Bengal which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and India which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Gazole's incremental SNDi rose from 4.76 to 8.12 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. What about similarly populated cities?
While Kuznetsk and Dashimiao both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, Gazole built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street additions. For the full network, Gazole and Kuznetsk both became progressively more disconnected, while Dashimiao grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Gazole and Kuznetsk have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
