Bansgaon in context: Street-network sprawl trends

The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Bansgaon plotted against Uttar Pradesh and India. All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Bansgaon's incremental SNDi rose from 0.95 to 1.35 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Bansgaon ranked 23rd out of 291 cities in Uttar Pradesh and 81st out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

In new street additions, Bansgaon fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Alcoi / Alcoy built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Kapri Kheda built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Looking at the full network, Alcoi / Alcoy and Kapri Kheda both became progressively more disconnected, while Bansgaon grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Bansgaon and Alcoi / Alcoy have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
