While Punjab and India both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Patiala's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Patiala's incremental SNDi rose from 3.15 to 3.3 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Patiala ranked 7th out of 41 cities in Punjab and 488th out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

While Culiacán and Nampula both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Patiala fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions.
