The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Mahgawan plotted against Madhya Pradesh and India. The SNDi of new construction in Mahgawan rose steadily, compared to Madhya Pradesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and India which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Mahgawan's incremental SNDi rose from 1.01 to 1.38 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Mahgawan ranked 2nd out of 98 cities in Madhya Pradesh and 7th out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

In new street additions, Mahgawan built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Al-Rifa'i fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and Dongjingcheng fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Mahgawan grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Al-Rifa'i became progressively more connected and Dongjingcheng became progressively more disconnected. Mahgawan and Al-Rifa'i have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
