The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Bhopal plotted against Madhya Pradesh and India. The SNDi of new construction in Bhopal rose steadily, compared to Madhya Pradesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and India which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Bhopal's incremental SNDi rose from 3.67 to 4.7 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Bhopal ranked 49th out of 98 cities in Madhya Pradesh and 910th out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

In new street additions, Bhopal built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Denver built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Maracaibo fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Bhopal and Denver have been growing further apart in their street-network character since 1975.
