The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Balaghat plotted against Madhya Pradesh and India. The SNDi of new construction in Balaghat rose steadily, compared to Madhya Pradesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and India which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Balaghat's incremental SNDi rose from 3.67 to 5.19 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. Balaghat, Koidu Town, and Gangneung all built increasingly disconnected streets over time in new street construction. The same pattern holds for the full street network. Notably, Balaghat had a more connected network than Koidu Town in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
