All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Athani's incremental SNDi rose from 3.26 to 4.37 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Athani ranked 70th out of 96 cities in Karnataka and 713th out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

In new street additions, Athani and Mianchi both fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Khanke Mod built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. For the full network, Athani became progressively more disconnected, while Mianchi grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Khanke Mod became more connected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then grew more sprawly from 1976-1990 onwards. Notably, Athani had a more connected network than Mianchi in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
