The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Ranchi plotted against Jharkhand and India. The SNDi of new construction in Ranchi rose steadily, compared to Jharkhand which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and India which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Ranchi's incremental SNDi rose from 4.75 to 5.44 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In new street additions, Ranchi and Sialkot both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Benin City fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Ranchi and Sialkot have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
