Mansa Nagar in context: Street-network sprawl trends

The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Mansa Nagar plotted against Jharkhand and India. The SNDi of new construction in Mansa Nagar followed a zig-zag trend with an overall decrease, compared to Jharkhand which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and India which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. In terms of the aggregate network, Mansa Nagar ranked 37th out of 46 cities in Jharkhand and 1382nd out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

In new street additions, Mansa Nagar fluctuated in its street-construction patterns, while Laobian built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved and Papantla de Olarte built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full network, Mansa Nagar became progressively more connected, while Laobian grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved and Papantla de Olarte became progressively more disconnected. Mansa Nagar and Laobian have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
