While Gujarat and India both followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase, Patan's new street additions followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Patan's incremental SNDi rose from 4.78 to 10.69 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Patan ranked 90th out of 92 cities in Gujarat and 1801st out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
While Timika and Namakkal both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, Patan fluctuated in its street-construction patterns in new street additions. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Notably, Patan had a more connected network than Timika in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
