The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Khambhat plotted against Gujarat and India. The SNDi of new construction in Khambhat fell steadily, compared to Gujarat which rose steadily and India which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Khambhat's incremental SNDi fell from 2.55 to 1.09 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Khambhat ranked 21st out of 92 cities in Gujarat and 361st out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

In new street additions, Khambhat built increasingly connected streets over time, while Melandaha built increasingly disconnected streets over time and Praya built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved. Looking at the full network, Melandaha and Praya both became progressively more disconnected, while Khambhat became progressively more connected. Notably, Khambhat had a more sprawly network than Praya in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
