Parvathipuram in context: Street-network sprawl trends

The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Parvathipuram plotted against Andhra Pradesh and India. All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Parvathipuram's incremental SNDi rose from 2.13 to 13.91 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Parvathipuram ranked 10th out of 91 cities in Andhra Pradesh and 233rd out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

For the full network, Parvathipuram became progressively more disconnected, while Şirvan became progressively more connected and She fluctuated in connectivity. Notably, Parvathipuram had a more connected network than She in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
