The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Nandyal plotted against Andhra Pradesh and India. The SNDi of new construction in Nandyal rose steadily, compared to Andhra Pradesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and India which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Nandyal's incremental SNDi rose from 3.93 to 4.83 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Nandyal ranked 73rd out of 91 cities in Andhra Pradesh and 1048th out of 1868 in India as of 2020.

What about similarly populated cities?
In new street additions, Nandyal and Aydin both built increasingly disconnected streets over time, while Ambato built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. For the full network, Nandyal and Aydin both became progressively more disconnected, while Ambato grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1976-1990, then improved. Notably, Nandyal had a more connected network than Ambato in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
