The SNDi of new construction in Machilipatnam peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Andhra Pradesh which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and India which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. In new street additions, Machilipatnam built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Tongliang built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns and Trieste fluctuated in its street-construction patterns. For the full network, Machilipatnam and Trieste both became progressively more disconnected, while Tongliang became more connected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then grew more sprawly from 1991-2005 onwards. Notably, Machilipatnam had a more connected network than Tongliang in 1975 but the two have since reversed their relative ranking.
