The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Aflao plotted against Volta and Ghana. The SNDi of new construction in Aflao peaked in 1991-2005, compared to Volta which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Ghana which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Aflao's incremental SNDi fell from 5.03 to 3.54 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Aflao ranked 5th out of 6 cities in Volta and 39th out of 53 in Ghana as of 2020.

In new street additions, Aflao built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Xi fluctuated in its street-construction patterns and eMbalenhle built increasingly connected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then shifted to more disconnected patterns. Looking at the full network, Xi and eMbalenhle both fluctuated in connectivity, while Aflao grew more disconnected from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved.
