All three follow the same trend in new construction, suggesting a shared regional pattern of development. Most recently, Cannes's incremental SNDi fell from 6.27 to 5.96 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Cannes ranked 4th out of 7 cities in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and 69th out of 73 in France as of 2020.

In new street additions, Cannes and Xinchang both built increasingly disconnected streets from 1975 through 1991-2005, then improved, while Pengzhou built increasingly disconnected streets over time. For the full street network, though, all three cities follow the same trend. Cannes and Xinchang have been converging in their street-network character since 1975.
