The chart above shows SNDi trends for new street additions (left panel) and the entire network (right panel), with Irgalem plotted against Southern Nations, Nationalities and Ethiopia. The SNDi of new construction in Irgalem rose steadily, compared to Southern Nations, Nationalities which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase and Ethiopia which followed a zig-zag trend with an overall increase. Most recently, Irgalem's incremental SNDi rose from 3.32 to 4.85 between 1991-2005 and 2006-2020. In terms of the aggregate network, Irgalem ranked 29th out of 39 cities in Southern Nations, Nationalities and 118th out of 181 in Ethiopia as of 2020.
